Putting the apertures together

In this I was given set of images like so:

I was asked to match them to a set of camera images but I could only match 3. This is my result:

Aperture Test

In this we had 4 items and we focused one of the middle objects and changed the aperture. We were told the higher the number, the less light can get in. As we did this the shutter speed changed and was slower the less light could get in. This is the results.

 As you can see the nearest object is very blurred and out of focus. This is set to an aperture of F3.5 and the shutter speed is 1/500.

And this one is pretty much the same, I can only see that the front object is very very slightly more in focus but not by much at all. This is set to an aperture of F4.5 and the shutter speed is 1/320.

Again thing seem very slightly more in focus but not by too much. This is set to an aperture of F5.6 and the shutter speed is 1/200.

In this one I can not see much of a difference. This is set to an aperture of F6.3 and the shutter speed is 1/160.

Compared to the F5.6 you can see a definite focus change, but I think to really change it you would have to change the aperture but a lot more. This is set to an aperture of F7.1 and the shutter speed is 1/100.

The aperture on this was set a bit higher than the rest and you can see the difference in focus a lot more. This is set to an aperture of F10 and the shutter speed is 1/50.

And finally a much higher aperture has caused this to more in focus all over, its brilliant how it works. This is set to an aperture of F22 and the shutter speed is 1/10.

I have always wondered about this and it has helped me understand this a lot better.

Find The Photographs College Tour

In this project we were asked to go out and take some photos of around the college, so before hand we made a list. (Below)

Then we went out and took these:

The main objective was to give one team the first photograph and find that place, when they get to the place in the photograph another photograph would be waiting for them to find, then they would go to that place for the next photograph, till they had found all of them. The team I was in done the same, we all got timed, so my team completed the task and won. Its a great way to explore the college and learn where things are, you will remember the places because you had to find them yourself.
